As Managing Attorney at Sina Rez Law, Erik Whitman leads the firm’s consumer protection and automotive warranty litigation practice with a focus on enforcing the rights of California consumers under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. With nearly a decade of dedicated lemon law experience, Erik has successfully represented hundreds of clients against major automobile manufacturers and distributors in both state and federal courts.
Erik’s practice spans every stage of litigation — from pre-suit evaluation through discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation — with a proven record of obtaining favorable settlements and verdicts for vehicle owners. He is deeply experienced in the discovery process for lemon law cases, opposing motions to compel arbitration and summary judgment, drafting amicus briefs on key appellate issues, and guiding clients through the complex procedural landscape of warranty enforcement. His work reflects a balance of strategic negotiation and precise technical advocacy rooted in a strong command of automotive systems and statutory warranty law.
Prior to attending law school, Erik obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, giving him a strong analytical foundation complementing his technical approach to defect analysis, creative strategies in prosecuting client’s cases, and expert examination in automotive cases.
